Skate Clothing

My favorite type of skate clothing to wear would have to be Diamond Supply. I have been a big fan of the clothing company for a very long time. I first got into this clothing brand when I first started skating with my friends back in middle school. We all loved this clothing brand. Almost every one of us wore this clothing brand every time we went out to go skateboarding. This clothing brand is one of the most expensive  brands for skateboarders. I have a white Diamond Supply snapback that I love to wear when I go out to public places. Diamond Supply also has some of the coolest shirts too. I don’t only wear Diamond Supply. There are a lot more clothing brands out there that are made for skateboarding, local or nationwide. I hope to start a clothing company someday when I am much older. I want to have my own skate shop. I will have every single type of brand of clothing in my skate shop. Most clothing brands for skating sponsors skateboarders that have a high reputation, so that the skateboarder can represent and advertise the brand that they are sponsored by. I hope to get sponsored some day for skateboarding. I hope to practice and get better so I could also become a profession skater too, but I would much rather prefer to own my own skate shop, so I can have my own clothing brand and sell my own clothes to other skateboarders like me.

Skate Shoes

My favorite skate shoes would most likely be Nike SB skate shoes. These are one of the only skate shoes that I have been skating with ever since I first started skateboarding. I don’t only skate with just Nike skate shoes, I skate with Lakai, DC, and Supra skate shoes. When you are a skateboarder, the kind of shoes you wear means a lot when you are trying to earn a reputation in skateboarding. Professional skateboarders like Tony Hawk are sponsored by skate shoe companies, so they can advertise the brands that they are sponsored by. Every single skate shop sells skate shoes. Skate shops have to sell skate shoes in order for skateboarders to skate. I remember this one time that I was at this pro skate shop, I seen the most beautiful pair of skate shoes that I had ever laid eyes on, a gold pair of Nikes. They were some of the most expensive shoes that was in the store at the time. I wanted them skate shoes so bad, I begged, and begged my parents for the longest time just so I could get the skate shoes that I wanted so badly. They ended up buying me the skate shoes I wanted after I begged them for a while, when they bought the shoes for me, I was so happy and so in love with the shoes I had. I wanted to put them on and start skating with them as soon as I could when I got home. I already knew that they were the right shoes for me.

Skate Shops

 

My most favorite skate shop in the whole world would be Anonymous Skate Shop ! It is a little local skate shop in Cincinnati but it is my favorite skate shop and it is one of the most coolest skate shops I have ever been in, in my life. I love Anonymous Skate Shop, they have a half – pipe in their skate shop, not that many people skate on it anymore like they use to do, when the skate shop first opened up almost everyone who shopped at Anonymous would try and skate on the half – pipe, but I really haven’t seen anyone skate the half – pipe in a year or so though. I have only been on the half – pipe once, and that is when the skate shop had first opened. Now the half – pipe is all worn out, there are some wooden boards that are broken and some nails sticking out, so not that many people even get on the half – pipe anymore, it is just too dangerous. Another one of my favorite skate shops would be CCS Skate shop. CCS Skate shop is the most largest skate shop in the whole U . S . If you are a skateboarder, then you will most likely know what the skate shop is. If you are not really a skater, then you most likely do not know what CCS Skate shop is. I have gotten a lot of skate gear from their over all the years I have skated.

Griptape

I have had many different types of grip – tape in my life, different colors and different brands. The grip – tape I have right now is pink and it had come free with my skateboard that I bought  from a professional skate shop off the internet. They have a lot of different types of grip – tape, they also have a lot of different designs too. The brand of grip – tape I have right now came with the store, that is why it came free with my skateboard when I had bought it. I have had the same grip - tape for about 2 years now, and it still has a lot of grip to it. I plan on getting some new grip – tape soon, but I do not know what kind of grip – tape I should get. I want to buy some new grip - tape when I get a new skateboard. I want to get Diamond Grip -Tape, but it is one of the most expensive kind of grip – tape you can buy. If you have a professional skateboard, then you definitely need pro grip – tape too. I use to have a lot of different types of grip - tape in my room, but I gave all of them to my friends because I had enough grip – tape at that time. Grip – tape for skateboards is like clothes for people;  you need to have a style, and most importantly, you need to make yourself look as good as possible in front of others.

Skateboard trucks

There are many different brands of skate trucks. The brand of skate trucks I usually use are Thunder Trucks. To me, these trucks are one of the most finest skate trucks made out there in the skateboarding industry. They have a lot of good rep they have built up in their company, they are a big company to the skateboarding industry, they are one of the most popular skate trucks made. One of the other most popular skate trucks made out there would be Independent Trucks, they are just about right next to Thunder Trucks, they have a lot of good rep built up in them too. There are a lot of pro skateboarders, that skate with these types of trucks. I love skating with my thunder trucks. My trucks are so smooth that they grind on rails as smooth as the greasing bearings in my wheels, so that they slide across the rail like it is nothing. I use to have a pair of Independent Trucks, but they were just to difficult for me to skate with, the bushings on the trucks would always bust and break whenever I would skate with them. Independent Trucks always seemed too loose for me to skate with anyways whenever I would skate with them I would never be able to keep my balance while I am going super fast down a hill, because I will start to get speed – wobbles and lose control, and if I lose control. I’m done for. So I prefer Thunder Trucks.

Skate Wheels

There are different types of wheels too ( by texture ) . There are Hard wheels, medium wheels , and soft wheels. They all have their own perks towards skateboarding. The hard wheels are used for rough terrain, like rough concrete or dirt to loosen up the traction. The medium wheels are the most commonly used wheels for skateboarders because they are almost the perfect wheels the skate with on the streets, parking lots, and other smooth surfaces to skate on. Soft wheels are used for rough terrain to keep as much traction as they can. Soft wheels are also used for smooth surfaces, like smooth concrete or smooth wood. I like using soft wheels when I’m going to the skate park, so that I can have a much traction as possible on the half – pipes and ramps, so I do not slip and fall while I’m riding. I will only use hard wheels when I street skate, they keep good traction on the rough concrete, but I still have the ability to slide with my wheels if I really wanted too. I rarely use medium wheels, because I feel like I need the right wheels for the right terrain and I want it to be easy for me to ride on that certain type of terrain without having any problems. Having the right wheels does not make you a professional skater, but it really does help a lot, and makes it a lot easier to practice for the skater.

Types of skate decks

My favorite type of skateboard  would most likely be a trick-board because it what I am most comfortable riding on whenever I decide to skateboard. There are two types of skateboards; trick boards and cruiser boards. Cruiser boards are meant to be used whenever you feel like cruising around the neighborhood or city. Don’t get me wrong! I like skating with cruiser boards too, it’s a nice fun ride when you just want to chill out, cruising down hills or flat streets. I keep a cruiser board in the trunk of  my car, so whenever I go park somewhere that’s nice to skate, I can take my skateboard out of the trunk and start cruising down the streets. I am most comfortable using a trick-board, because it is very simple for me to just pop a trick while I’m just cruising around on it. When I’m on my trick-board I’ll mostly just look around for stairs or grass gaps I can do tricks over. The most stairs I’ve ever jumped was five stairs. I love doing tricks over gaps the most, there is just a lot more tricks I can do over gaps than stairs or anything else with a trick-board. Cruise boards have been around the longest, because not that many people know how to do tricks or of capable of doing any tricks. Most professionals prefer trick boards most of the time, because they want to do a lot more than just cruise around on a cruise board.

Skate Parks

My favorite skate park would probably be Ollie’s Skate park down in Kentucky. I have has so many memories at that skate park, it’s a real nice place to skate at too. There are a lot of half-pipes, ramps, and rails there, the place is filled with them!  Everything is made out off wood except the rails and the people skating there. There are places to skate for beginners , and there’s a place made for the professional skaters too. They also have a café at the skate park, it’s filled with pop machines, food machines, and it’s even got its own microwave in there. They also have a skate shop inside the skate park, where they sell skate wheels, nuts and bolts, skate trucks, skate wax ( to grind on the curb ), skate decks, and just about everything a skater needs. The beginners usually stay around the area where all the small and simple things are. Like the short-rails, kickers, quarter-pipes, etc. They usually don’t do much except mess around and carry on silly conversations. The professionals on the other hand are actually a lot different than the beginners. They are more serious with their actions and the tricks they do are just unbelievable. They do some of the coolest, and some of the most hardest tricks in skateboard history. They don’t mess around that much, unless they’re taking a break, then they usually just carry on some of their silly conversations. Ollie’s Skate Park is so amazing.

Skateboard tricks

 

My favorite trick to do is a kick-flip. It is very simple to do , to me, and it is fun to do when I’m just cruising around. The kick-flip was the first flip trick that I ever learned to do on a skateboard. One of my other favorite tricks to do is a Hard-flip. This trick probably took me a couple of years to practice before I could successfully do the trick. As soon as the landed the trick for the first time, I fell in love with the trick, I would be doing it almost every time I hopped onto a skateboard.  Another trick mine I love to do is the one-foot manuel. There’s only one other person that I had ever met that could also do that manuel. It’s very easy to me, I never even had to practice the trick, it was a natural ability to me. I actually like to show-off this trick sometimes in front of anyone and everyone. It’s just awesome, I love doing the trick, and it is just so easy for me to do.  I’m a street skater, skating all the time, so you might see me sometime skating the streets of Cincinnati. There are a lot of tricks in skateboarding. Some tricks haven’t even been discovered yet. There will always be new skateboard tricks to discover, only the best skaters can discover new tricks though, because all of the obvious ones have already been discovered. I hope to discover and make my own skate trick someday.

My skate life

I am 17, I love skating with my close friends. One of my favorite hobbies to do is to skateboard. I love to skateboard in the summer because it's the most perfect time of the year for me to skate. My and my friends skate just about everywhere when we all hangout. We skate at parks, businesses, warehouses, the street, anywhere that we thing it’d be fun to skate at. My dad is the person that first actually got me into skateboarding. I first started skating when I was 9 years old. I’ve been really into it ever since I learned how to Ollie. Then when I started learning newer tricks, skateboarding became more interesting to me over all the years. My first skateboard was a “ Blind “ skateboard. It was my first professional skateboard from the skateshop. Anonymous skateshop. I rode on that skateboard for about a couple of years. I’ve had so much fun on that skateboard. A lot of good memories were made on my first skateboard. I skated to hundreds and hundreds of places on my skateboard. Most of the tricks I have ever learned was on that skateboard of mine. The smooth painted bottom, greased up bearings, fast spinning wheels,  and hard metal trucks; the sweet setup for a skateboard that every skateboarder needs. I was always pretty stingy with my skateboard, but you can’t blame me because it was my first ever professional skateboard, made by a very popular and professional skateboard company.
